| DESCRIPTION |

Salkantay, the snowy mountains of 6300 meters above sea level and surrounded by mountains like Umantay, Sacs and others who make this trek an unforgettable adventure, is one of the few where you can appreciate a variety of beautiful natural landscapes.

| ITINERARY |

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa

Picking up the passengers from 4.30am to 5.00am from their hotel then leaving in our private transportation toward Mollepata town 2900 m (meters above sea level) we should have a beautiful and scenic journey toward Limatambo town, there we will have breakfast, during the journey we will have beautiful sights of the Apu Salkantay sacred mountain where we can see an impressive snowy mountain range and the Apurimac river valley. After we arrive to our starting place of the trekking, Cruzpata 3200 m. We started to walk around 3 hours suffering through traditional Andean towns like Cruzpata, Challacancha where we will stop to have lunch. Then we will continue walking on to Soraypamapa village 3850 this will be our camp place for the night.

Day 2: Soraypampa –Chaullay

After-breakfast quite early we will begin to walk during 3 hours approximately at 4590 m to arrive at Apacheta mountain pass. There we will view spectacular sights of the Salkantay snowy mountain 6264 m known as the second higher peak of the Cusco region, and also the Humantay and Huayanay mountains, for some 2 hours downhill we will see the white river, and some small lakes. we will stop in Huayracpunku to have some lunch, after this we will begin our long walk for 2 – 3 hours to Rayan niyoc field 2890 m. or to Chaullay field 2920 m, Depending of the decision of the group and of the conditions weather and the time of the year we will move to the camp site placed at a distance of 16 kilometers away to Rayan niyoc or to 23 kilometers to Chaullay.

Day 3: Chaullay – playa

Just after breakfast at 7.00am we will begin an easy walk for 3 hours toward Uscamayoc town, where we will get into a kind of a high jungle place where we can see a variety of plants, fruits, flowers and birds etc. Here we can observe the harvested of the bananas and also we can see a waterfall near this area, if we are lucky we will be able to observe the famous Andean cook of the rock bird. We will have lunch in Wiñaypoqo place we can enjoy for an hour of free time to rest. Next we start to walk for 3 hours going to a little Beach village 2350m. The camp site is at a distance of 15 kilometers approximate were we will spend a night there.

Day 4: La playa – Aguas Calientes

Just after-breakfast at 7:30am, we will begin our long walk toward Lucmabamba village there we will see some original Inca trails , then our trail continues and we will see some coffee, banana, and fruit farms and we will have some views of Santa Teresa valley. We will follow the Inca trail climbing for 4 hours approximate getting to Llactapata 2700 m. We will be able to observe Machupicchu Inca Citadel from here and we will enjoy some free time to rest, after this we will walk down for 2 hours toward the hydroelectric plant 1870m where we will have some lunch. At 15.20pm we will aboard the train to lead us to Aguas Calientes Town 2000m which the journey takes about 45 minutes. An optional activity for you is to take a bath in the hot springs placed 12 kilometers distance from Aguas Calientes Town. You might have dinners and spend a night in a hotel for a night.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Just after breakfast we will take the bus to led us in a journey of 30 minutes toward Machupicchu Citadel, this visit lasts near of 3 hours and next we will have some free time to take photos or climb toward Huaynapicchu mountain or the visit of the temple of the moon or the door of the sun as an optional activity in the Inca city, after we will have lunch in Aguas Calientes or Machupicchu next returning the Cusco City arriving about at 8.30pm.
